A 10 cottage homestay sits calmly in the hills of Garhwal, Uttarakhand. The kitchen staff prepares a simple and authentic meal with ingredients that are locally produced in the farmlands around. Often you will hear the bells of the grazing goats and cows, while you sit by the huge windows of your room that open up to an infinite view of the Himalayan mountains. There is no electricity to charge your gadgets so you can happily bid a goodbye to technology. A solar lamp will come your way in the night, while the mornings are an early start with the first ray of bright sunshine. This is a typical day in THE GOAT VILLAGE.
Puerto Rico is an extremely friendly island – from people to places. And that is how the glowing bioluminescent bay that we once saw in the movie ‘Life of Pi’ came into my mind. We pinned down Vieques – the brightest bio bay in the world on a NEW MOON night in April, and hence the trip to Puerto Rico.

There are islands which haven’t been explored much and due to this they still retain their unblemished beauty. Earlier in the evening, when the bus from Kaza pulled in at Khibber (the second highest motorable village in the world nestled in Spiti Valley at about 14,000 ft.), the driver offered to help find me a place to stay for the night. But before he could proceed to tell me about his friend’s very comfortable homestay, I had jumped down the cluttered stairs with my backpack and shamelessly asked the woman with the egg crates and a green plastic cycle if I could stay with her for the night.
The American electorate is fresh from the third presidential debate and weeks away from the most contentious election season in recent history. In this time of political chaos, though, it’s important to recognize two things. One, that this presidential contest is not the first contentious one. Two, that this isn’t the first time the United States has seen protest and civil unrest.
Unlike other museums, the interactive elements at the The Center for Civil and Human Rights (NCCHR) in Atlanta, Georgia, are never cheesy or distracting – they are built into the experience.
I had never been to LA before, but one thing I learned about the city right away is that getting anywhere is unbelievably difficult and expensive. After LA, I will never complain about Boston’s five cent subway fare hike ever again. Luckily, there was lots to do in and around campus. If you’re as stingy with your Ubers as I am, check out my comprehensive college tour of the Loyola Marymount University.

Malaysia, located in southeast Asia, is split into two parts, separated by a stretch of ocean. The western part shares a border with Thailand, while the eastern part sits on the island of Borneo, which it shares with Indonesia and Brunei. The capital, Kuala Lumpur, is located in the western part. There is so much in Malaysia to explore, from east to west, city to jungle. Until I can go, I can only dream about the reasons I want to.
Traveling solo has always been a dream for me and my trip to Bali not only made that possible but unfolded many chapters of my life, which I was unaware of. It has made me learn and evolve as a more confident individual, made me value the things I possess and helped me earn a lot more respect for my own self.
