#PeopleOfParis: A Peace Vigil in Boston City

Countless years of civilization, and still we are not compassionate enough to understand. We are all standing on a crossroad of viewpoints – some are mourning, some are blaming, some are objecting, some are defending, and a few cruel some are even celebrating. Is this really the world we thought it would be when we were kids? Do we want our children to witness war and inhumanity? We are the present generation, that can make a difference – so why not ‘Stand United in our Differences’, and pray for world Peace. Lets hear from the #PeopleofParis, who along with hundreds of Americans, gathered at a Paris Peace Vigil, in Boston Common, sharing their thoughts of Humanity…

“I have friends back in France. Its very hard to actually speak about this incident, because one feels that there are no words to express the atrocity, the horror. Its an unspeakable barbaric act. It’s hard to believe that these things have actually happened, like 9/11, so how did we all get here?

We think of ourselves as civilized, and having reached the 21st century, and then we go back into tribal actions, this barbaric behavior that is unworthy of any human being in any period of history. I think even tribes from 3000 years ago would have hesitated before they would have taken the life of innocent people. For the people who did this, to draw the attention of the western world to their despair
I mean their despair might be true, but killing innocent people is not a way to communicate that to the western world.”

“I feel sorrow of course, and I feel pain. But at the same time I am so glad that there are so many people here to share our common faith. I am living here in America now, but I have family and friends back in Paris, who are in shock.” – Miss Benedicte, France

“I think it’s too soon, when you see something like this happening again in less than a year. It’s a very fragile situation and you can’t really understand why some people who are probably my age or older, decide to kill other people who have nothing to do with whatever they are fighting for.

How lost do you need to be, to see the best way to be solving a problem is to going abroad into a concert hall, to kill people who are just there to hear music. It’s awful, and it’s a tough time from France. I am afraid of what will happen next, but today I just want to mourn.” – Pierre Ruelland, France

“Today it is hard for me to be here, and not be in France, with my family. I am really chocked that this has happened again after the last attacks in January, so its very hard, and extremely sad for us.” – Aurelie Mehaute, France

“We are just sad for these people who have lost their lives, and for this terrorism that is so senseless. it doesn’t really accomplish anything. Its just some powerful people playing games, but its just sad for people who are are just trying to live their lives.” – Sasha and Chris Lemonta, couple from Russia and US.
